Hollywood Star Claims Trump Asked Her Out on a Date — Right After Meeting Her Boyfriend

Salma Hayek Pinault, a popular Hollywood actress, claimed in a recent interview President Donald Trump once asked her out on a date immediately after meeting her boyfriend.

Hayek Pinault made the claim during an interview on “The Daily Show” on Friday. According to Hayek Pinault, Trump called her on the phone after having met and had dinner with her and her boyfriend after an event.

“Am I crazy? What about my boyfriend?” Hayek Pinault said she asked Trump. “‘He’s not good enough for you,’” she said Trump replied. “‘He’s not important, he’s not big enough for you. You have to go out with me.’”

Did Trump actually say this? Who knows, but it’s an interesting piece of gossip, and I was struck by the fact that something like this is almost unthinkable with any other president in history. Also kind of destroys the whole “Trump hates Mexicans and thinks they are all horrible people” thing, since, you know, Hayek Pinault is a famous Mexican-American actress.

If Trump did engage in this kind of behavior, it’s more than just a little disappointing. It’s one thing to ask a woman out on a date, but to ask a woman out who is already in a committed relationship is, in my view, morally wrong and disrespectful (both to the woman you’re asking and to the other person in the relationship). The same obviously applies to a woman who does the same thing to a man. People should be respectful to one another, especially people who desire to be leaders in society and government.
